About Me
I am Dr Jay Nagy, an aerospace engineer and visiting academic with leading expertise in the field of system safety engineering. My research focuses on safety-critical systems, notably, accident causation theories and novel approaches to safety investigations.
Within the framework of my doctoral thesis, I led an international research project that revisited major test flight accidents during non-routine flight operations. Our results confirmed that test flying the latest generation of commercial jet airplanes poses a significantly higher safety risk than routine airline sectors, including fatalities, serious injuries, and hull losses.
